How do I create a lunch account for school staff members?

This article will explain the process of setting up an account for school staff members who want to eat at the school.

The first step in creating an account for staff members at the school is to determine if they have children at the school or not. If they do, you will want to add them to their existing family account. That way everyone in the family can share the same family balance. To add a staff member to an existing family, search for the family in the Wordware District Site>Families tab>Family List. Once you locate the family, open up the family account in the Family Dashboard. Select the White layout (in the upper right hand corner of the page) and then click on "Create a new student."

Enter the staff member's first and last name. For the grade, choose the Adult grade. You must also select  a school. Adults can go through the serving line in any school, so it does not matter which school you select; however, a school MUST be selected in order for the account to work in the serving line.

Click the green "Save" button to create the staff account.

After clicking "Save", a Student Account No, Student ID and Lunch ID will have been created for the staff member which can be used in the serving line.

All family members will share the same family balance now.

If the staff member does not have children at the school, you will need to create a new family account for them. From the Wordware District Site, go to the Families tab and select Family List. Click on "Create new family."

Select the White layout in the upper right hand corner of the page.

In the Family Acct box, enter as much information as you know. The minimum is first and last name. Then, click the green "Save" button to create the Family Account.

Next, click on the blue "Create new student" link in the Student List box.

The final step will be to create a Family Key so the staff member can get registered on the Family Site to view their transactions and make payments online. There are two ways to provide a Family Key to the staff member: email or a printed letter.

To print a Family Key letter, from the Wordware District Site, click on Letters on the left side of the page.

From the Letters box, click on Family Key Letter.

This will create a PDF copy of the Family Key Letter.

The Family Key Letter explains how to get registered on the Family Site. The key is good for 60 days. If the key is not used within 60 days and expires, a new key can be generated by creating a new letter.

The second way to get a staff member their Family Key Letter is to email it to them. To email a Family Key Letter, go to the Wordware District Site>Family Dashboard>White Layout.

In the Family Acct box, click on Family Keys (show)

Then, click on Create Family Key.

Next, click on Email new Family Key.

Finally, click on Create and email new Family Key. This will email the staff member a copy of the Family Key Letter.
