How do I create a new menu item and add it to my menu item grid?

This article will explain how to create a new menu item and place the item on the menu grid so it is available to purchase.

To create a new menu item, start in the Wordware District Site under "Items>Menu Items."

Click on "Add New Menu Item."

Create your item by adding an Item Name, Item Type and Price. The SKU and UPC are optional, as long as you are not using a barcode scanner to scan menu items in the serving line.

Click "Submit" to save your item. Then, wait 5 minutes for the item to sync over to the LCS.  After 5 minutes, log in to the LCS1000 and go to the Lines tab>Line Settings.

Select the line you want the item to appear in by clicking on it.

Next, click on Menu Item Grid.

Locate the item in the data selector box on the left. Newly created items will appear at the bottom of the list. Then, drag and drop the item on to the grid.

To move an item to a different place on the grid, click on the item to remove it. Then, drag and drop it back on to the grid.

To add a color to the item, drag and drop a color (from the color selection options on top) on to the item. To change the color of an item, drag and drop a new color over the top of the item.

When you are finished making your changes, click the Save button.

Then click the Close button.

If the item needs to be placed on another serving line, repeat these steps with that line.
