How to ignore schools, grades or students from importing

This article will review how to stop DataBridge from importing data for a school, a grade or a student and when and why this would be used.

In some cases, data in a file needs to be ignored at a grade or school level. This means that all data for a student that in listed as the ignored grade and school will be ignored.

For example, in this screen shot the grade EC (-1) is being ignored. Since this student has the grade PK none of the data for this student (Student ID through Phone number) is ignored when the import is ran. The data that exists for this student will be unchanged. This ignore tool does not assume anything so no students will be withdrawn, deleted, moved or changed by the DataBridge when they have data that qualifies them to be ignored.

Ignoring a non K-12 grade would be necessary in situations where the grade should not be counted as enrolled by the state.

Please note that all modules should be considered when choosing to ignore a grade or school. For example, the Food Service Department may not need the grade in the system but the Athletic Department may need it.

Ignoring a school is very similar to ignoring a grade. To ignore a school or grade, begin by clicking on the "Change" link in blue where it says "X schools currently set to be ignored"
