This article is about the server used to transfer a DataBridge file from the District's Student Information System to the District's LCS1000
The sFTP system is a server that SmartSchoolK12 hosts. The purpose of the server is to securely store a DataBridge file until the LCS1000 can retrieve it for processing. It is configured so that each District using the system has access to its own branch within the file structure.
Wordware generates a username and password that is given to the proper contact at each district. The credentials are generally handed off to the school's SIS manager. For security, we never send the credentials by one means. Part of the credentials are given over the phone. The rest of the credentials are sent via email.
The server may be accessed by using a tool such as FileZilla or WinSCP. Both are free to use and can be downloaded here.

You can now select the site from under "My Site" then click "Connect."
Having the site saved on a software tool like this is useful for finding out if the file is landing in the right directory. You can also make a copy to your own machine, then open the file and look for students and their contacts if there is a question about what data is being imported for a student or a family.
